Jesse // Haiti Trip

Haiti was a life changing experience for me. I really didn’t know all that orphans go through, but as time went on, I started to sense that they really have no one to care for them. God showed me what real love is through the orphans in Haiti; there were many times the children had nothing, but still they had all the joy in the world. Their unselfish act of love towards each other was also heart gripping. Many times the children, who often have no food, would all share a candy bar or . There really was no me or I in that regard, only us. God also showed me that there really is not difference between the people of Haiti and Americans; all that we have has been given to us and just because they may have less material possession than most Americans doesn’t mean they aren’t just as important. The trips to the orphanage and feeding center in Gonaves, Haiti were really inspirational. Change an orphan, change a country is what the trip taught me. God is doing great things through his sons and daughters in Haiti, and I look forward to being a part of that in the future.
